Halloween Decor Pt. 1

I am so excited because it is finally October which means I no longer feel like a crazy woman with my Halloween decorations up. I think that I am even more excited for the holidays now that Boston is around even though I know he won't remember a thing about his first Halloween, kinda like I know he won't remember his first birthday, but there is just something so much more fun about any holiday with little ones around.

This is actually the first year that we have decorated for Halloween and not because I don't love the holiday, because I do. I just was never was able to find anything that fit my style and also incorporated Dustin's wishes to have scary stuff. Neither Dustin or I were ever allowed to have creepy Halloween decorations or dress up as anything scary which is why I think he has always wanted them at our house. So in the past we had fall decor and kinda skipped over the Halloween stuff. Lame, I know.

I have always loved ZGallerie's Halloween decor, actually I am pretty obsessed with just about everything in that store, but honestly it was a little too pricey and way too girlie according to Dustin so off to Pinterest I went in search for some inspiration. I found a few things on there that were Dustin Approved so I headed to Walmart and Hobby Lobby to do some shopping. I like to call myself "selectively cheap" because I have no problem spending way too much money on a nice handbag or pair of shoes but in the same day I will decide to clip coupons for $.10 off at the grocery store. It makes no sense. Anyways, I ended up finding almost everything I needed and spent under $150 dollars on all of the decorations.

Here's Part One of what we came up with:
(I ended up moving these to our dining room table but this was the best pic I had.)

Tomorrow I will post Part 2 and later this week I plan on coming up with some How-to's for jazzing up some of the Walmart and Hobby Lobby stuff so check back. I hope all of y'all are enjoying your first day of October! I think I may need to make a run to Starbucks and grab my obligatory Pumpkin Spice Latte to celebrate.
