Bowties or Bows: Our Gender Reveal Party

Happy pre-Friday y'all! In honor of this Throwback Thursday I thought I'd share a few of the pics from our gender reveal party that occurred almost a year ago today. It's so crazy how much can change in a year.

I really love planning parties and most of the time they are for everyone else. So when I found out I was pregnant I couldn't wait to throw a party for ourselves in honor of the little person growing inside of me.

We had a blast celebrating with a few of our favorite people. And we got such exciting news that we would be having a son. We would have been thrilled no matter what the gender was though. :)

Crazy side note: As some of you may have read we had trouble conceiving (you can read about that here) and I was placed on a drug called Femara to help us out. About 3 weeks into our first medicated cycle I woke up, still slightly in a dream state but a little awake, and I had this really powerful thought come to my head and it said "you're pregnant and it's a boy". A week later I got my positive pregnancy test and a few months later we found out my feeling was correct and we were going to have a boy! It's so amazing what your body can tell your brain.
(Handmade Photo Booth props. We used an Instax Mini Polaroid Camera for the pics. It was a hit!)
(I think I was saying "I was right!!" :D)
(Grandpa was a little choked up. He can't wait to take Boston camping.)
 (Smiling for the camera.)
(Praying over our sweet little boy.)

  1. Such a cute reveal party! When I was pregnant with my daughter, I always knew she was a girl--and I knew that she was going to be born with dark hair and blue eyes. I was right on all three counts! :) Congrats! And don't feel bad about the maternity jeans--I wore mine for quite some time after I'd had my daughter!!

    1. Mama's intuition is a powerful thing. :D I just think they are so much more comfy than anything else I have owned. I am not normally a fan of jeans. Ha!

  3. Everything was so adorable! I didn't get to find out with my little one, Maya. I went the public healthcare route and only got to have one ultrasound, which I ended up getting to confirm my dates and it was too early to tell. I always knew she was a girl though and the night before I took my pregnancy tests I had a dream about them being positive as well.

    1. Isn't that crazy!? I was looking up accuracy on mom's intuition and that was always the best predictor of gender.
