Target Holiday and Beauty Haul

Last night we made a quick run to Target to get Boston's first can of baby formula :'( (I plan on doing a post on my breastfeeding journey soon but clearly things aren't going as planned). And like always I wasn't able to get out of there with just the items I needed.

Dustin has never been a fan of putting up Christmas decor until after Thanksgiving but that doesn't mean I can't go ahead and look for some festive stuff now right? Wrong. I think he complained the whole time we were walking down the Christmas isle… Saying things like "You can't buy candy canes yet!!" "We don't need new stockings." "Summer, you are ruining Christmas." I ended up buying the candy canes, some new holiday decor and some new beauty products but I did promise I would not put up our tree until after turkey day was over. Marriage is all about compromise.

- Wreath: I plan on doing a little diy flocking and then jazzing it up a little more to hang on the door. After Thanksgiving of course.
- Mugs (in-store only): Because when its cold out you can never have too many mugs for coffee or hot cocoa.
- L'Oreal Gel Eyeliner (in Blackest Black): I have heard this stuff makes winged eyeliner a breeze so I had to buy some to try out. I feel like winged liner and red lips make for a very pretty and classic look. Perfect for the holidays.
- Sally Hansen Miracle Gel (in Creme de la creme): I am always going to the salon to get gel nails but my mom and best friend swear this stuff lasts almost as long. And since I am always down to save a few bucks I figured I would give it a try.
- Revlon 24 Hour Colorstay Foundation (in Fresh Beige): I normally use Makeup Forever Foundation but one of my favorite beauty bloggers recommends this stuff over a lot of the expensive brands and I thought it would be worth a shot. P.S. I have already tried this one out and so far I love it!

Happy Shopping!

  2. I never get out of Target with just the things that I go in for! I remember when we bought our daughter's first can of formula--I'd exclusively pumped for almost five months at that point, and I was so, so stressed about all of it. That can seemed to be failure to me at the time, but looking back, I am grateful that I was able to do what I could for my child as long as I did!

    1. That is what I'm trying to tell myself. I've felt so defeated but in the end there isn't anything I can do so I need to remember to cut myself some slack. Thanks for the support!

  3. You will have to let me know how that miracle gel turns out! I have heard good things :) and I can't wait to see what you do with that wreath! Our Christmas decorations are pretty much all up , thankfully my husband just turns the other way, no questions asked lol. Also, my breastfeeding journey sounds similar to yours with my first boy! I stopped producing enough milk to fill him up around 9 months. Looking back now, I am so thankful I was able to nurse him that long! This time around, I have had max on formula now for 1 1/2 months... Now that he is 7 month, I am only nursing at night and sometimes morning... My milk supply decreased again, but I am okay with it - Max is a big boy so he needs lots! Lol

    1. :D You are lucky haha! I am chomping at the bit to decorate.

I am sorry you went through the same thing with nursing but it is nice to know I have company. I have tried as hard as I could but I guess sometimes that doesn't matter. I know formula will be just fine for him and it will just take me getting over the fact things didn't turn out how I wanted. Boston is also a big boy and he has always been a great eater so I am sure he will appreciate any type of milk he can have. :)
