How To: Flocking an Artificial Christmas Tree

So this project ended up being pretty easy. I saw a tree I loved on Pinterest and was too cheap to buy a new one so I figured I would flock our tree we already had and it worked out really well.

We thought it would take a lot longer than it did but with two people working on the tree and one person watching the baby, we completed this in only a couple of hours. It probably would have taken less time if I didn't have to send Dustin to the store for more Mod Podge and paint.

You'll need:
- Mod Podge in Matte (may need two bottles depending on the size of the tree)
- Matte White Acrylic Paint (we needed two small tubs)
- Artificial Snow Flakes (3 bags)
- Gloves
- Covering for the floor in case of splatters or spills. I used garbage bags.

You can watch the instructions here:

** Tip: Turn on the lights (if you have a pre-lit tree) that way you can easily see where to not put the paint. This was way easier than taping off all the lights which would have taken forever. **

Simply,
Summer Ann

  1. I absolutely love this!!! I've been wanting to go all white with my Christmas tree but I'm too cheap to go out and buy all new ornaments. Maybe this will be motivation!!
